Games with Gabriela

Two seasons ago when we lived in Corrientes I was one of the youngest wives on the team. We were on a team that majority players were married and some had kids. I can remember going to the games in a outfit that I would be able to go out it! After the games I would always wait on Nichy outside the locker room ,and we would decide what the plans were with other couples. The wives with children usually waited in the stands while their kids played or ran wild on the court!

Now that Gabriela is walking I let her on the court after games. I am the "wife" chasing her child after the game! Watching her tonight made me realize how fast time goes by and the different stages of married life. Times have changed since the Corrientes days. I no longer go to games with just a purse and cute outfit on! The diaper bag is filled with toys, books, juice, snacks, and anything that will keep her busy. This year I am one of the oldest wives on the team! I have to say I kinda like being the old married wife of the team:) I also have a new found respect for all mothers who go to sporting events with their children!

11 Months!

Gabriela is 11 months today! Time has gone by so fast. She rarely crawls anymore and walks everywhere. Vocabulary consist of dadada, mamama,(rarely) and no!! Favorite food is chicken and fruit! There's not much she doesn't like when it comes to food. If she is anything like Nichy or me she will be a eater!! One thing we are both in desperate need of is a hair cut!! When we get home Aunt Lindsay will give Gabriela her first trim:)

She is always smiling....even when she is having a bad hair day:)

Nichy lost his games and did not make it to playoffs. El Nacional will be playing in the playout. If they loose they will drop down a division next year. This has been a long season, and I think Nichy is worn out! The good news is we will be returning to The States a lot earlier this year.

Gabriela was cheering for Daddy. She has gone to many basketball games and loves all the action!

Tears for Daddy

Nichy has been here all week and it has been great! He and Gabriela have gotten to spend so much quality time together. Today he was packing his bags, and getting ready to leave. He kissed us bye and started to walk out the door. Gabriela started walking toward the door holding her hands out crying!! This is the first time she has ever done this! Nichy didn't know what to do! We decided to walk him downstairs. Gabriela was laughing in a great mood until Nichy got in the cab! Then she burst into tears again. Poor baby didn't want her Daddy to leave! I told him this is probally the first of many tears!

He has two big games this week. We are going to both of them. They need to win both of them to make it to playoffs!

Walking!

Gabriela is Walking! It started a couple weeks ago with a few steps. Now she is walking a lot! She is still cautious and sits down when she gets off balance. The look of accomplishment on her face is priceless! Nichy and I just can't believe our little baby is walking!!
This month she is doing a lot of new things. She seems to be enjoying her books more. When we read to her she likes to turn the pages. Sometimes she will get the books and look at them while babbling to herself! Every day she is exploring new things. She loves closets, kitchen drawers, and crawling under chairs. Yesterday we let her try her daddy's spaghetti and meatball dish! We don't know how much she actually ate but she had fun:)

We had a full day today of shopping and eating! Of course we also had to stop for ice cream. Florencia loves McDonald's so we ate there for dinner. Today I made empanadas for the first time, and they actually weren't bad!! We went shopping and Toya found a great pair of heels. I wanted a pair also, but they did not fit! Probally for the best because I can't walk in heels!

Gabriela was walking while holding Toya's hand in the park. She was also trying to get a couple bites of Toya's ice cream!

This little boy was so funny! He and Gabriela were just staring at each other through the window. He kept trying to walk out of the restaurant to see her! I think I have a little flirter on my hands!

My friend Florencia came to visit. She lives in Corrientes, Argentina which is in the north. We lived there two years ago. It is a great city, and I really miss it! Nichy is out of town for the week. We have been walking the city and eating lots of ice cream!! For some reason I can't walk around and not have ice cream!!! It has become a serious problem!

Gabriela has loved having Florencia here. If Florencia is in the bathroom Gabriela is pushing the door open. She is still taking steps every day. Tonight we are sitting here and she is just all over the place! I can't believe my baby is trying to walk.

Steps!

Last night I saw Gabriela take her first two steps! Who was the lucky person she was taking her first steps to get close to? Not me or Nichy!! It was Brandon!!! He is Nichy's teammate and they also played together in college! Brandon just recently joined the team and is over at the house a lot. Gabriela loves to play with him and he gets all the attention when he is at our apartment!
